i‘ve spent a lot of time over the last number of years in the beautiful country of ecuador. as a result i’ve traveled up to the northern border of ecuador and ventured into colombia to see how it’s port of entry and border checkpoints operate compared to the united states.
colombia is a beautiful and lush country with tall mountains, beautiful cascading waterfalls and a very busy hustle and bustle in the city areas.
crossing the border between the two nations is usually a mere formality where the vast majority of travelers aren’t asked to provide any documentation. there are border security personnel who are standing in the area who will periodically stop cars as they deem necessary.
